I LUV this because Derek was standing closer to Stiles in the first gif, then in the second gif he’s apparently WALKED BACKWARDS AWAY FROM STILES and is in the process of stepping forward to the spot he was before in the first gif. DEREK!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING? DON’T MOONWALK AWAY FROM YOUR HEART. 

I ALWAYS CONSIDERED THIS SUPERB CHARACTERIZATION. Like, STILES IS ALL STARING DEEPLY INTO MY EYES WITH TREMBLING DEFIANT AVAILABLE-NESS, whoah, I should leave. I’M LEAVING NOW. Okay, now. OKAY NOW. you know, i think if we just assume Derek Hale’s boner has staged a hostile takeover every time Derek makes a bad decision, the entire show—and Derek’s choices—will make WAY more sense.

What if Derek Hale’s boner is an actual sentient being and it communicates with him telepathically and that is why there are so many moments where he pauses and looks considering before he actually speaks. Also half the time it happens he kinda looks like he wants to say something and then decides to say something else and this is because his boner is kind of a kill joy, Derek Hale is actually a very open and honest person it’s his dick that has trust issues.

I’m kinda worried about you guys.

There’s a guy standing by the pumps when he comes back outside. He’d seen him through the window, seen him edging closer to the car while kicking sand in his worn-out sneakers. Derek tucks his wallet into the back pocket of his jeans and meets the guy’s eyes—brown, beautiful—as he approaches.

“Nice ride,” the guy says with a faint smile, pulling one hand out of his pockets to let it wander across the pump, long and distracting fingers drumming on the surface.

Derek arches an eyebrow as he stops barely three feet in front of the guy, amusement tugging at the corners of his mouth. There hadn’t been enough people appreciating his choice of wheels, most not understanding why he’d pick a black ‘68 Camaro rather than one of the newer models. But then most people didn’t know where he got it from.

“You like American muscle?” He asks.

What had been a smile turns into a smirk as the guy gives him an unabashed once-over.

“I do.”

I can totally see this being a mating!AU. Derek has to pick a mate and he’s being pestered by his family, and it’s just getting on his nerves. He’s shown to the high school with all the legitable mates and has to sit through meetings and conversations with them that he has no interest in. Scott is one of them and Stiles, who’s not put himself up for the running this year, through personal choice, is standing by the door for moral support. But of course, with his luck, the door wasn’t shut properly and he stumbled into the room. Through fumbling and awkwardness and remarks that only appear when the adderall is wearing off, Derek makes his decision.

“I want him,” Derek announced and pointed towards the unexpected teen.

Wide eyed, Stiles pointed at himself. “Me?”

“Uh, Mr Hale, but h-he’s not on the list,” the headmaster stammered.

“I don’t care. I want him.”
